Branding for The Early Bird Eatery

In 2021, the owners of The Early Bird Eatery were preparing to move to their third location in only a few short years of business. This new space would become the permanent home for the modern brunch café, so we set out to establish a brand that could stand for years to come.

Website Design for Misfit Society Coffee Club

I partnered with the creators of Social Misfits in Grand Rapids to develop an online home for their new concept in Ann Arbor, Michigan: Misfit Society Coffee Club. This offbeat coffee shop at the University of Michigan leans fully into their mission to be a refuge for misfits, outcasts, artists, freaks, underdogs, and pretty much everyone in-between. Our website design reflects this unapologetic brand.

Logo Design for Roselis

South Bend’s Roselily started the 2023 with a French takeover of their own restaurant, and Keur Design Studio was hired to create an identity for the event. Chef Eamonn wrote, “For the first 3 weeks of January we will be doing a restaurant takeover of ourselves. We’re going all in, linens on the table, servers in bistro aprons, French music, new menu focusing on French food, French wines, degustation. And you may ask why? Just for fun. Come join us.”

Branding and Website Design for The Ragamuffin Bakery + Coffee

Abigail Emmons’ vision for The Ragamuffin was a bakery overflowing with warmth and nostalgia that offered oversized treats and wholesome goodies reminiscent of her childhood. While the bakery embodied this vision, her original visual brand and website missed the mark. A brand refresh and website design were exactly what The Ragamuffin needed for the digital presence and physical space to be aligned.

Branding for Alasdair’s Elixirs

Alasdair Nichols is an alchemist of flavor and fermentation. In 2022 he launched a business crafting naturally flavored drinking vinegars focused on improving gut health with innovative fermentation. The brand was an essential piece in setting the tone for the business and establishing an expectation of quality.

Branding, Website Design, and Storytelling for Food Belt

The rust belt city of South Bend, Indiana, was experiencing surprising growth in the food and beverage scene during a time when many cities were seeing the opposite. Kath of Keur Design Studio launched Food Belt, a digital food publication, as a way to share stories of chefs, bakers, and brewers fueling this culinary renaissance.

Branding and Website Design for Pink Lemonade Pastries

After several years in business, the DIY logo Adare Wilcox created when she started Pink Lemonade Pastries was feeling disjointed from the true personality of the bakery. Instead of the original soft pastels, Adare was craving a brand that would celebrate her bold and unapologetic feminism with vibrant pinks and bold contrast.

Packaging Design for Small Batch, Big Impact

In 2022, Harper Cancer Research Institute celebrated ten years of confronting the complex challenges of cancer. As a way to celebrate their ongoing work and raise awareness, the institute partnered with Crooked Ewe Brewery to craft a small batch beer. This shrink sleeve can designed by Keur Design Studio and printed by Mossberg Beverage boasts bold gradients and metallic accents, the first can released in a series to raise funds for many more years of cancer research.

Branding for Moonlighter

Owners Jenn and Mike of The Early Bird Eatery opened their space for evening pop-up events with the goal of featuring local chefs or offering an evening version of their own concept. Moonlighter was launched as the darker, moodier side of The Early Bird Eatery.

Menu Design for Bantam Chicken & Seafood

Chef Dont’e Shaw’s restaurant featured upscale comfort food with exceptional presentation and flavor. However the look and feel of the menu did not align with the quality of the experience. Keur Design Studio crafted a menu that featured an oversized paper and textured cardstock using a minimal palette to present an upscale design that better aligned with the chef’s concept.

Wine Label Design fro Ironhand Vineyards

An illustrated bouquet of the Indiana state flower, the peony, is the focal point of this wine from Ironhand Vineyards in South Bend, Indiana. The rosé wine label is elevated with rose gold accents and a linen textured paper stock.

Branding for Crooked Ewe Brewery

The annual Crooked Union membership for Crooked Ewe Brewery is an opportunity for loyal customers to receive discounts on beer and food, plus a set of collectible merch. The 2022 brand designed by Keur Design Studio is an ode to prohibition era when workers flooded the streets in protest carrying signs declaring “No Beer, No Work!”

Branding for Alec Hoogland Ceramics

Elegant lettering with intertwining strokes highlights the custom high-end design that Alec Hoogland Ceramics infuses to each of their handmade ceramics. The brand for this South Bend pottery studio was launched in 2021 to provide a visual identity that was more aligned with the high-end, feminine aesthetic of the artistry.
